James Robert Scarbrough 1901 - 1918
James Robert Scarbrough, Jr. was the son of
James Robert & Mary Etta "Ettie" Puckett Scarbroug.
He was born January 11, 1901 in Logan County Arkansas.

James was killed in France while serving in the US Army during
World War I.
When the United States entered the Worl War, he was nineteen
years of age. He enlisted in the United States Army and became
a member of Company K, 26th U.S. Infantry. Shortly after his
arrival in France with the A.E.F. his organization went into
font line trenches. On July 20, 1918 he was killed in action.
His remains were brought from France in 1921 and on April 6th
of that year were laid to rest in the National Cemetery at
Fort Smith with military honors.
